Gretel Scarlett Jahnke (),[1] known as Gretel Scarlett (born 9 November ) is an Australian actress and performer.[2] Having appeared in theatre productions including Wicked and Mamma Mia!, she is best known for starring as Sandy in the – Australian production of Grease and Kathy Selden in the / Australian production of Singin' in the Rain which opened at Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne.[3] She most recently appeared in Disney's Frozen as the Elsa understudy.[4]
Early life
Born in Rockhampton, Scarlett's parents enrolled her in singing and dancing lessons at the age of four.[5] She later took speech and drama lessons and went on to complete her Trinity and AMEB Classical Voice and Speech/Drama Examinations as well as her RAD and Cecchetti Classical Ballet Examinations.[6]
