The notion of dualism is one of the constants in Boetti's research and biography: in 1972 he began to sign his works “Alighiero e Boetti”.

He is regarded as a key figure in the beginning and evolution of Arte Povera and Conceptual Art, two movements from the 1960s-1970s.

Boetti was born in 1940 in Turin, the Motor City of Italy and the home of Fiat.

Born in the industrial Italian city of Turin in 1940, Boetti would go on to become a leading figure of the Arte Povera movement of the late '60s.
